Attend the Próspera Fintech & DeFi Summit

Build the future of Crypto / Blockchain, Banking and Insurance

The Summit is an Unconference

An unconference is a participant-driven meeting. The term "unconference" has been applied, or self-applied, to a wide range of gatherings that try to avoid hierarchical aspects of a conventional conference, such as sponsored presentations and top-down organization.

By, say, 2025-2030, I expect that there will be multiple jurisdictions that allow the tokenization of virtually any scarce resource, all the way down to personal tokens.

Many financial products have been untouchable for thousands of years. But no longer. They are now seeing disruption for the first time. Cryptocurrencies for money. Smart contracts for law. Blockchain for property rights.

A more decentralised, autonomous and inclusive financial system seems possible. Yet many oligopolies in banking, insurance and law see their status threatened. Often, they capture regulatory agencies and politicians.

To protect their privilege, they are willing to undermine competition and arresting change. As a result, even basic financial products are out of reach for the least privileged of society.

Yet a better future is possible. If you're a fintech entrepreneur, investor or innovator, let's build! Let's build a more inclusive and transparent financial system.

  • The ticket fees are $300.

Included in the ticket fee is ground transportation, light breakfast and lunch for 3 days. Dinner is not included.

Flights are typically $600-1000, depending on where you come from.

Accommodation is typically $100 per day.

That totals out to $1.500 - $2.000 per person for 5 days.

  • This is the right conference for you if you’re an innovator, bold thinker and doer.

    • You are a (prospective) founder or key employee of a tech startup in the focus industry

    • You are a VC, angel or any kind of investor in the focus industry

    • You are an influencer / expert in the focus industry

Space is limited to 100 attendees.

  • A 3 full-day event (arrival the day before, departure the day after).

An unusual conference format, based on the “Unconference” philosophy.

Instead of a scheduled 10h program, what we’ll do is …

    • A pitch competition on the last day, for existing and new business ideas

    • Little scheduled program (max. 2-3h) to leave room for spontaneity

    • Lots of time and room for networking and spontaneous workshops

We want you to come away from the conference with new partners, investors, co-founders and friends.

  • Roatan is a beautiful paradise island. It has an international airport with direct flights from Miami, Houston, Denver, Atlanta and Dallas-Forth Worth.

From other destinations, you first fly to San Pedro Sula.

TIP: Book flights separately from your origin airport to San Pedro Sula, and from San Pedro Sula to Roatan. This can be a lot cheaper.

  • The island is overall very safe.

We recommend you stay in one of the main areas: West Bay, West End, Sandy Bay, French Harbour, French Key, Pristine Bay, Palmetto Bay.

Avoid walking alone on long, empty stretches of beach.

Avoid Coxen Hole, Las Fuertes and neighbourhoods that seem sketchy on foot at night.

You’ll always be fine by car anywhere on the island.

You can move around freely if you keep the above in mind. The people on the island are overwhelmingly friendly and most speak English.

  • If you are willing to share accommodation with other attendees, we can book a place for you. This is often cheaper.

If you want to book your own accommodation, we recommend the following options:

    Las Verandas

    Clarion Suites

    Beach Club

    Parrot Tree

If you choose a different location, we may not be able to provide you with free transportation.

  • Your conference tickets fully cover the cost of transportation each day.

A driver will pick you up from the airport the day before the conference (not if you come earlier).

A driver will take you to and from the conference, and to locations that are part of the program.

A driver will take you back to the airport on the last day of the conference, or the day after.

If you want to be more flexible, we recommend the following contacts:

Rental cars - Are easy and affordable to come by ($40-60 per day)

    • Carlos - (504) 9936-1578

Taxi - The island has no Uber, and taxis are relatively expensive ($20-40 per ride).

    • Orville - (504) 9939-9574
